Free classes

The Federation runs weekly free kids' classes — a child's first try, with a real coach, at no cost to your family.

Free community sports classes, ages 4–15

We are helping children discover the right sport for them — and encouraging them to make sport a lifelong part of how they live.

Through free, structured sports experiences, children learn the right way to take part in a sport, build long-term interest and healthy habits — and families discover which sports best fit their child's interests, strengths, and potential. Our free community sports program is built for youth ages 4 to 15.

How the program runs

The standard program runs 8 weeks, one hour per week — 8 hours in all. In some communities the schedule adjusts to a 4-week format, depending on timing, holidays, and facility availability.

Where the program runs in 2026

The 2026 community sports program began in Irvine in March, and has expanded — or is planned to expand — to Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights, Arcadia, Thousand Oaks, Chino, and Newport.

For older youth: volunteer, then junior coach

Older youth take part as volunteers and junior coaches. We track and document their community service hours, which students may use according to the requirements of their own school or school district.

Volunteer service is also a core part of our Youth Leadership Program: through hands-on experience, students grow step by step from volunteers into assistant coaches, building communication, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership along the way.

For eligible youth, these experiences can also support future participation in The Congressional Award — particularly in Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, and Physical Fitness.
