Four sports, one afternoon, and a great many certificates
Irvine, California — April 26, 2026.

The program put four sports in front of the children, and each asked for something different. Wushu wanted focus and control of the body. FlowBall wanted coordination and a loose wrist. Volleyball wanted them to trust the person next to them. Soccer wanted them to keep running when the ball had gone the other way.

It finished with the Keystone Sports Festival Irvine Skills Challenge, and with awards in every one of the four, plus recognition for the junior coaches and volunteers who ran the stations. Every certificate stood for effort and persistence rather than for winning — which is the only sensible way to hand out certificates to children.

None of it would have happened without our partners. Our thanks to BK Dragon Wushu Academy, FlowBall USA and TeamPlay, whose coaches and equipment are what made this a real program rather than an afternoon in a park.

And our thanks to the parents who donated. This is a charity program; it runs on that generosity, and it will fund the next one.

See you on the field.
