Labor Day: swords, spears, staffs, and a lot of applause
Culture knows no borders, and love flows through every movement.
Our team performed in traditional uniform: the slow control of Tai Chi, the speed of Changquan, and demonstrations with sword, spear and staff. It is a demanding thing to do in front of a crowd, and the crowd knew it — there was applause after nearly every routine.
We are a nonprofit, and our mission is cultural heritage and public service first. We will keep bringing this into community spaces: Chinese martial arts as something to watch, to try, and to carry forward, and as a bridge between the people watching and the people performing.
